Who am I?

My name is Alex Cue. I’ve been overweight since the 5th grade, and haven’t been at a healthy weight since. When I started this blog, I weighed in at 258. The highest I’ve ever weighed was 267. I’m putting all this out there, because I’m determined not to let myself fall back into that life again. I’m on a journey, not just to lose weight, but to change my lifestyle to reflect a healthier me. Eating right, effective and efficient workouts, and enjoying the journey is what it’s about these days.

I feel that social accountability is HUGE when it comes to changing your life. Whether it’s quitting smoking or quitting the dollar menu, knowing that others are looking out for you and care about your progress makes all the difference. I started this blog to provide a public face for my journey.

I’ve always had an insatiable appetite for knowledge, and fitness/nutrition is no exception. While I don’t have a degree in either of those areas, I have been reading basically non-stop since my sophomore year of college about both. BUT, I’ve never really put the whole thing together. My journey is incorporating all that I’ve learned thus far, and using it to transform my body. I want to share what I’ve learned as well, so that others can stand on my shoulders just as I’ve stood on the shoulders of giants.  Hopefully you find something useful here, and be sure to leave a comment if anything resonates with you.
