Weekends kill me

By Alex in Goals

So, it’s been just over 5 weeks since I started PSMF, and I’m down about 20 lbs. That’s nice and all, but take a look at my chart (at the top) and you’ll see some pretty severe yo-yoing. If I could eliminate my weekend binges, I’d be down even more. It’s having to work the first half of the week to make up for the weekend that is killing me here. I thought I would be good about not drinking and partying and doing all that jazz, and for the most part, I feel like the drinking is under control. I had a long bachelor party over Memorial Day weekend that set me back some, but it was definitely worth it.

Other than that, it hasn’t even been so much about the drinking as it has been about the TRAVELING. Man, we have spent some serious time in the car over the past few weekends. Down to the Ozarks and back. Up to Minneapolis and back. Over to Chicago and back. That just KILLS my diet…there’s only so much beef jerky I can stomach (about the only semi-permissible item for my diet in a convenience store!) before I succumb to temptation and grab a Rockstar and a double-cheeseburger or bag of chips. So that’s 3/5 weekends on the road. The other two, I had one totally dead weekend when I just ended up eating TWO pizzas in a 3-day period what the hell and another with a party, which I actually managed to stay pretty clean through.

So it’s all about planning. I’ve said it before, I’ll say it now again. I have to plan, or I just blow up my diet.  Saying that is so easy. And here I am, staring down the barrel of another long weekend on the road (to the Memorial Day friend’s wedding)….7 hours in a car this weekend. A wedding with reuniting of close friends (who all like to drink and have a great time), and an exhausted me Sunday night. We’ll see if I feel like a can of fucking tuna after all that.

Counting today, there are 11 days until July 4.

Jeez, you think I could put some blinders on and focus on the finish. Remember back in January, when I said my goal was 200lbs. by July 4? Well, I clocked in at 221.6 this morning. We’ll see if I have it in me to get it off me. Pix (and comparison shots) at the finish, promise! :)
