Tonight’s workout

By Alex in Exercise, Goals

It’s the end of day 2, and I want to recap what I’ve been feeling, as well as share my workout from tonight. So far, I’ve felt pretty good. I am still urinating at an annoying frequency, but I attribute that to a combination of the diet and the fact that I’m drinking more water than ever. I have felt a bit of…not light-headedness, but kind of a headrush or something a few times; I’m not entirely sure what that is about. I haven’t felt sluggish or weak at all, and my satiety is manageable. I bought some strips to test for ketosis, and I have not yet entered that phase. I’ve read that I will have a more metallic taste in my mouth, but who knows.

I’m decreasing my training volume, and getting “back to basics” with my lifts, I’ve decided. Since I’m only going to try to lift twice a week, I want to focus on the big, complex exercises. Nothing fancy, just moving heavy weights. I’m going to try out a two day split, broken down like so:

Workout A:

  • Squat: 3×5
  • Bench Press: 3×5
  • Deadlift: 1×5

Workout B:

  • Squat: 3×5
  • Standing Military Press: 3×5
  • Pendley Rows: 3×5

with a warmup set for each, and plenty of stretching afterward. I may modify this a bit to include dips for workout A and chins for workout B in the future, but we’ll see!

Just like with my nutrition, I’m going to start keeping track of my progress in a dedicated page. Head up to the top for the link! Right now, I’m sore and tired, so I’m off to bed.
